Occupants Trapped in Vehicle Collision on Highway 46 [Wasco, CA]

Wasco, CA (July 13, 2024) – Occupants have been trapped in a vehicle collision on Highway 46 Thursday night.

It was about 9:36 p.m. when the two-vehicle crash happened near the Cholame Y.

Investigating officers said a vehicle was about to make a left turn onto northbound State Route 41 from eastbound lanes of State Route 46 while the other vehicle was driving westbound on SR46.

As the vehicles drove through the intersection, the vehicle that was turning left onto Highway 41, drove in front of the westbound vehicle.

The two vehicles collided head-on.

People riding in both vehicles, including children, were trapped and had to be freed from their vehicles.

Luckily, no one was seriously injured in this collision.

Troopers said occupants from one of the vehicles were from Salinas and the other vehicle’s occupants were from Tulare.  

The authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol as a factor in the collision.
