OAKLAND, CA – Injuries Reported in Two-Car Crash on 880 Freeway near 980 Freeway Interchange

Evening Collision Between 2 Cars on 880 Freeway in Oakland Leads to Injuries

 
OAKLAND, CA (December 12, 2018) – Injuries were reported following a two-car crash Wednesday evening at the intersection of 880 Freeway and 980 Freeway.
 
The crash happened around 9:16 p.m. involving a black Chevrolet Corvette and a black Kia SUV.
 
While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, one of the cars overturned due to the impact. Injuries were sustained in the accident but the extent and number of patients were not immediately known.
 
An ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene and transported those who were injured to a hospital.
 
Both cars sustained major damage and were towed away from the crash site.
 
All lanes were blocked during the rescue and clearing operations.
 
An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.
