Oak Street Hit-and-Run Crash Sends Bicyclist to Hospital [Elko, NV]

Elko, NV (April 5, 2022) – On Sunday, at about 12:04 a.m., a 38-year-old bicyclist sustains injuries in an Oak Street hit-and-run crash.

Officers said the traffic incident happened near the intersection with A Street wherein an older model of a white sedan turning from A Street to Oak Street struck the man.

“The vehicle struck the victim, causing him to be lifted onto the hood and thrown onto the roadway,” says the police. “The driver of the suspect vehicle failed to stop to render aid and fled the scene.”

Unfortunately, the victim incurred a broken leg and pelvis. The paramedics rushed him to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital and later transported to Salt Lake City for advanced medical care.
