Nora Pike and Elouise Pike Hospitalized, Napoleon Camacho‑Zarco Involved in Pedestrian Crash on Sonoma Avenue at Farmers Lane

SANTA ROSA, CA (November 27, 2018) – A woman and her 1-month-old daughter were hospitalized Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on Sonoma Avenue at Farmers Lane.

The incident happened when a family was walking home from Montgomery Village around 4 p.m. Nora Pike, 31, was carrying her 1-month-old daughter, Elouise Pike, on her chest as her older daughter, husband and toddler boy were walking ahead.

It was during this time when 36-year-old Napoleon Camacho‑Zarco attempted a left-hand turn from westbound Sonoma Avenue onto southbound Farmers Lane, traveling at a speed of about 30 mph, and struck Elouise and Nora with his Nissan Armada.

Camacho‑Zarco immediately pulled over and was questioned by authorities. The 36-year-old driver informed officers that he was trying to make the yellow light at the time he was turning.

Santa Rosa firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene and rushed the mother and child to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. Nora suffered a deep 7-inch gash to her forehead and scalp along with other cuts while Elouise suffered minor bruises.

More investigation regarding the details of this crash is underway.
