12-Year-Old Noel Bascon Struck and Killed By Pickup Truck in Costa Mesa

 
Orange County, CA (December 7, 2020) – On Sunday, a young child, Noel Bascon, died following a fatal bicycle crash on Junipero Drive and Arlington Drive.
 
Moreover, according to the Orange County Coroner’s Office, the accident occurred in the early evening of December 6.
 
The deadly Costa Mesa accident occurred at about 6:37 P.M.
 
Furthermore, authorities say Richard Lavalle of Long Beach is responsible for the accident, having ran a red light.
 
Apparently, Noel and his father rode their bikes down Arlington, when Lavalle, under the influence, hit the young bicyclist.
Shortly after the incident, paramedics transported Noel Bascon to Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
 
Ultimately, the child succumbed to the injuries he sustained.
 
Police arrested Lavelle at the Junipero Drive scene, and he is currently being held without bail.
 
The Long Beach resident is being charged with murder over the fatal DUI accident.
 
No further information on the Costa Mesa bicycle crash is currently known.
