Guadalupe, CA (April 29, 2020)– Wednesday afternoon, reports of an Amtrak train and semi-truck collision occurring near Highway 1 and Thornberry Road.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded after receiving crash reports at around 3 p.m. on April 29. Dispatched officers arrived at Highway 1 and Thornberry Road, shortly after.
 
According to reports, the train was headed northbound just north of Guadalupe when it collided to a semi-truck that was trying to cross railroad tracks. Additionally, the crossing did not have any signals.
 
As a result of the impact, the semi-truck trailer sustained massive damage. However, there were no reported injuries at this time.
 
Furthermore, officers closed the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, it has been re-opened
