RIO LINDA, CA (September 21, 2020) – Thursday night, a driver fled the scene after a hit-and-run crash on Sunview Way.
 
At around 8:10 p.m., a black Ford Mustang crashed through the fence and into a house. The incident took place in the 6511 block of Sunview Way, north of Elkhorn Boulevard.
 
According to reports, a woman occupied the house during the car. However, Officer Greg Zumstein, a spokesman for the CHP North Sacramento Office confirmed that there were no injuries.
 
Afterward, the suspect fled, leaving behind the black Mustang at the scene.
 
Zumstein confirmed that speeding played a role in the crash. However, officers are still attempting to determine what caused the crash. Meanwhile, a witness said that before the crash, the suspect drove recklessly and possibly “spinning donuts” in the road.
 
Furthermore, Zumstein said that there were no other vehicles involved. The authorities also found no containers of alcohol. Thus, they do not believe that alcohol played a role in the incident.
