Afternoon Collision on Yates Well Road in Nipton Turns Deadly

 
NIPTON, CA (April 15, 2019) – At least one person was killed following a car accident Monday afternoon in Nipton, authorities said.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:17 p.m. on Yates Well Road near 15 Freeway.
 
Details are sparse on what exactly transpired, but a Jeep was reportedly involved and was found on a rough dirt road, about 5 miles from the crash site.
 
Four medical engines and fire trucks were dispatched to the scene to handle the rescue operation. A coroner was also called and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident.
 
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
