Brandon Kolb and Logan Hiebert Badly Injured in Deadly Crash on Highway 99 in Nicolaus

 
NICOLAUS, CA (December 14, 2018) – An Oroville couple was killed following a three-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in southern Sutter County.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:20 p.m. on Highway 99 at Power Line Road.
 
According to the CHP, the couple were in a 2011 Cadillac CTS that was heading northbound on Highway 99 approaching an intersection with Power Line Road. The 72-year-old female driver stopped at the intersection, then drove into the path of a 2018 Ford F-350.
 
The Cadillac began to roll over toward the southbound lanes and collided with an oncoming 2001 Toyota Tacoma.
 
The driver of the Cadillac was taken by ambulance to Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her 78-year-old male passenger was declared dead at the scene. Their names were not immediately available pending notification of their family members.
 
The driver of the Toyota Tacoma, a 30-year-old Brandon Kolb of Citrus Heights, and a passenger, Logan Hiebert, 21, of Citrus Heights, both suffered major injuries and were transported to UC Davis Medical Center in unknown conditions.
 
The driver of the Ford, Troy Stotka of Nicolaus, only sustained minor injuries.
 
The southbound lanes of Highway 99 were closed for about two hours while officers and crews worked on the scene. All lanes were re-opened around 2:50 p.m.
 
Investigation of this fatal crash remains under investigation.
