William Isham Involved in Traffic Collision Near FM-1396
Fannin, TX (January 19, 2023) – On January 16, Nicolas Gamez, 60, of Bonham, died in a tractor-trailer crash on Highway 78.
The fatal collision took place at about 6:15 p.m. near FM-1396.
Reports say Nicolas Gamez was southbound on a 2021 Kubota Tractor towing a homemade trailer on the freeway without displaying any emblems or lighting as required. He slowed down attempting to make a left turn.
William Isham, 65, of Greenville, was driving a 1998 Peterbilt towing a semi-trailer and did not see the vehicle of Nicolas Gamez and rear-ended its trailer.
As a result, Nicolas Gamez’s vehicle rolled over and he was ejected. Officers said he was not wearing a seatbelt during the collision.
Unfortunately, Nicolas Gamez died at the scene.
DPS is investigating the collision near FM-1396.
