2 Killed in Reno Aircraft Collision
Reno, NV (September 18, 2023) – Pilots Nick Macy and Chris Rushing were killed following a plane crash at the Reno Stead Airport on Sunday afternoon.
The fatal collision happened at about 2:15 p.m. during the conclusion of the T-6 Gold race at the Reno Air Races.
Initial reports stated that the two aircraft collided upon landing.
Macy and Rushing were experts and were Gold winners in the T-6 class. Macy piloted Six-Cat and Rushing piloted Baron’s Revenge.
In a statement, the Reno Air Racing Association says they are cooperating with the National Transportation Safety Board, the FAA, and all local authorities to determine the cause of the collision and ensure that pilots, spectators, and volunteers have the necessary support during this difficult time.
