Stacey Home Arrested after Suspected DUI Collision at San Jose Avenues
CLOVIS, CA (June 28, 2018) – Two men were injured, including a Clovis police officer, late Thursday evening after a police vehicle was struck by a suspected DUI driver.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash took place around 11:00 PM at the intersection of San Jose and Minnewawa Avenues. An eastbound 1997 Toyota, driven by 46-year-old Stacey Home of Clovis, was approaching Minnewawa Avenue when it t-boned a Clovis Police car driven by 30-year-old Nicholas Campbell.
The impact of the collision caused the police car to jump a curb, strike a pedestrian, and slam into a tree before coming to a rest.
Campbell and the pedestrian, later identified as 25-year-old Martin Sanford, were hospitalized after sustaining injuries. Sanford was transported to the Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries, while the police officer has been released and is expected back to work on Monday.
Home was taken into custody and is facing felony DUI charges. Updates and details about this case were not immediately disclosed to the public at this time.
