Nate Howle Involved in Suspected DUI Accident near Dinsmore

DINSMORE, CA (June 25, 2019)– One person died in a suspected DUI high-speed crash along Highway 36 near Oak View Road Sunday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, crews responded to the two-vehicle crash just west of Dinsmore.

Patrol officers say a 1988 Honda sedan collided with a 2018 Dodge pickup truck head-on. The driver of the Honda reportedly veered onto the shoulder before steering back into the oncoming lane where it struck the Dodge, driven by 44-year-old Nate Howle.

Unfortunately, the Honda driver, whose name remains unknown at this time, died at the scene.

Police did not state if Nate Howle sustained any injuries in the accident.

Investigators believe excessive speed and alcohol played roles in the accident; however, CHP officers are continuing their investigation of this crash.
