29-Year-Old Female Victim Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision on Highway 99 in Delano
Delano, CA (May 4, 2020) – Late Saturday night, 29-year-old Nancy Sanchez was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99.
Police reported a car accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian 11:45 p.m. California Highway Patrol rushed to the scene on the Highway 99 on-ramp near Ellington Street and Highway 155.
There, they found the Chevrolet vehicle involved in the incident, as well as Ms. Sanchez. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation.
Furthermore, the now-deceased victim remained unidentified until her family’s notification.
Police later determined that Ms. Sanchez walked along the lanes of Highway 99, when the driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban came and struck the pedestrian. Ms. Sanchez died at the scene, but the investigation is currently still on-going.
