Blown Tire Causes Tolleson Accident on Interstate 10 near Loop 101

 
TOLLESON, AZ (August 8, 2021) – Friday afternoon, a crash on Interstate 10 near Loop 101 led to multiple injuries.
 
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety officials, a westbound pickup truck pulling a trailer loaded with cinder blocks blew a tire. The incident happened just before 4:00 p.m.
 
As a result, the driver lost control and crashed into the median barrier near the Loop 101 transition.
 
Then, the cinderblocks were spilled into the eastbound lanes of the freeway. Also, the blocks hit several vehicles injuring a couple of people. Thus, responders took them to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Also, the crash caused traffic delays on both sides during the clean-up. By 7:30 p.m., the roads have since reopened.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
