1 Dead in St Louis Multi-Vehicle Accident near Dr Martin Luther King Drive

ST LOUIS, MO (May 5, 2025) – Saturday night, a firefighter died in a horrific multi-vehicle crash near Dr Martin Luther King Drive.

Reports said that the incident involving multiple cars occurred at about 11:35 p.m. near Dr Martin Luther King Drive and Whittier Street.

Preliminary investigations showed that a black Jeep Wrangler had been attempting to pass a gray Chrysler 300 when the Chrysler was trying to turn onto Whittier. The Chrysler struck the Wrangler, causing it to overturn.

The driver of the Wrangler, a St. Louis Firefighter, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the driver of the Chrysler ran away on foot but turned himself into the North Patrol Division Sunday morning. 

The identity of that driver had not been released at the time of publication.
