LAS VEGAS, NV (September 2, 2019) – An on-duty MDP crime scene analyst sustained injuries in a wrong-way crash on 215 Beltway on August 30.
 
The DUI crash occurred at around 3:12 a.m. on the 215 Beltway near West Flamingo Road, said Metro Lt. Greg Phenis. The female occupant is in a southbound Metro minivan. In addition, the impaired driver traveled north in the southbound lanes.
 
The woman was in a Metro minivan southbound while the impaired driver was northbound in the southbound lanes, Phenis said.
 
“She swerved at the last second and they glanced off each other,” Phenis added. “Super lucky she wasn’t killed.”
 
Responders transported the woman to a hospital for treatment while the uninjured wrong-way driver faces unspecified DUI charges.
 
The crash shut down the 215 Beltway for around an hour during the investigation.
