Mouaffak Alami Arrested for Suspicion of DUI Following Archibald Avenue Crash

 
Rancho Cucamonga, CA (December 4, 2020) – Two dogs were killed and a pedestrian was injured after an alleged DUI crash on Archibald Avenue on Saturday.
 
The alleged DUI crash incident happened on November 28 just after 2:15 PM.
 
According to a Rancho Cucamonga Police Department news release, the pedestrian was walking with his family and the dogs in 7100 Block of Archibald Avenue near the P.E Trail.
 
The victim was next to their dogs walking ahead of the family, and as they were crossing the intersection, a passing car suddenly hit them. Then, the speeding car lost control before colliding with a tree.
 
Medics took the pedestrian to a hospital for treatments; however, the severity of their injuries is still unknown. Moreover, police have not released updates about the victim’s condition.
 
Meanwhile, both dogs died at the scene.
 
Police took the driver identified as Mouaffak Alami, 23, from Rancho Cucamonga to the hospital where the deputies obtained a blood sample from him.
 
Later, police arrested him for suspicion of DUI and booked him to West Valley Detention Center with a bail set at $100, 000.
