1 Injured in San Diego Accident on Mission Gorge Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 28, 2019) – A 48-year-old male motorized bike rider sustained major injuries in a collision with a car on Mission Gorge Road.
The incident occurred in the 6500 block of Mission Gorge Road on August 23 around 7:55 p.m. According to reports, the rider tried to cross from the west side of the street to the east side.
The rider then crashed at a nearly 90-degree angle into the passenger side of a northbound gray 2014 Subaru traveling in the No. 2 lane. As a result, the bike overturned, Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department said.
Responders transported the rider to a hospital with major blunt force trauma and his survival was in question.
Authorities ruled out alcohol as a factor in the collision.
The SDPD Traffic Division is currently investigating the incident.
