Motorcyclist Seriously Injured after Crash with Tractor-Trailer on Miramar Road [SAN DIEGO, CA]

Rider Attempting to Pass Truck on Miramar Road Badly Hurt in Crash

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 24, 2019) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured following a collision with a tractor-trailer Friday morning in San Diego.
 
The crash happened just before 10:00 a.m. in the 9700 block of Miramar Road.
 
According to the San Diego police, a 36-year-old man riding his motorcycle tried to use a bicycle lane to pass the cargo truck when the crash occurred.
 
The impact resulted to major injuries on the rider. Responding paramedics took the man to a hospital for treatment of fractured pelvis.
 
No other injuries were reported.
 
The crash is still on active investigation while the authorities are putting the pieces together.
 
Motorcycle awareness is critical especially during busy rush hours. Although splitting lanes may allow one to quickly reach their destination, it is extremely dangerous. Please act mindfully and considerately when you are on the road.
