Fleeing Motorcyclist Arrested After Crashing With CHP Vehicle on Brookhurst Street
Anaheim, CA (May 1, 2020)– A motorcyclist fleeing from the police ends up crashing into the CHP vehicle on Brookhurst Street on Wednesday evening.
Around 11 p.m. on April 29, California Highway Police observed a motorcycle speeding along the eastbound 22 Freeway. CHP officers followed the vehicle and tried to stop it but the motorcyclist continued running away from the police.
CHP spokesman Officer Duane Graham reported that the motorcyclist went on fleeing on and off the freeway for almost 30 minutes. However, the motorist went back driving into the surface streets in Anaheim again.
After several minutes of running away, the motorcyclist ended up crashing into the CHP’s vehicle. The 2-vehicle collision happened at Romneya Drive and Bluegrass Street, Graham said.
Due to the impact of the crash, the motorcyclist sustained non-serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital and remained there for treatment. Nevertheless, a charge of suspicion of felony evading and speeding awaits him as soon as he gets treated.
Furthermore, the officer involved in the collision did not sustain any injuries from the crash.
