Victim Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on State Route 16

 
Lakewood, WA (May 12, 2020) – Saturday afternoon, a motorcycle crash on State Route 16 left a motorcyclist dead and a female passenger injured.
 
The now-deceased victim was later identified as 55-year-old Eric Griswold, of Lakewood. The information was released by the Washington State Patrol and Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Griswold and a female passenger were reportedly seen heading east on State Route 16 around 3:00 p.m. Reports said that the crash happened when Griswold lost control of the vehicle around Burnham Drive, near Gig Harbor.
 
Furthermore, the impact caused both passengers to be ejected from the vehicle.
 
Responders brought Griswold to a nearby hospital. However, he was later pronounced dead. Meanwhile, the woman was brought to Tacoma General Hospital for further treatment.
 
Towing services were requested in the area due to the extent of damage sustained. Currently, the investigation is still on-going.
