Crash at Valley Center Road Kills 1, Injures 3 Others
VALLEY CENTER, CA (July 8, 2019) – A motorcyclist died in a crash at Valley Center Road and Mirar De Valle Road Sunday afternoon.
The incident, which occurred at about 4:10 p.m., also left three people injured. Among them was a 3-year-old girl.
An investigation indicated that the 30-year-old motorcyclist was riding a 2007 Honda motorcycle southbound on Valley Center Road. At the same time, a 39-year-old man was driving a 2017 Nissan Altima eastbound on Mirar De Valle Road.
The Nissan stopped at the intersection and subsequently turned left onto Valley Center Road. As it was completing the turn, the motorcyclist hit its left rear bumper.
The force of the impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle. First responders took him to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Nissan driver was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital, along with and his two passengers, a 42-year-old woman and a 3- year-old girl. All three sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.
