Police Investigate Motorcycle Crash on Interstate in Avondale

Avondale, AZ (April 2, 2025) – A motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries after a crash on Interstate 10 into a semi-truck near Avondale Boulevard early Tuesday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Before 1 p.m., a DPS trooper attempted to pull the motorcyclist over for speeding, but the rider fled. 

Due to heavy traffic conditions, the trooper did not pursue. Moments later, the motorcyclist collided with the back of a tractor-trailer.

Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital in critical condition. 

Authorities have not released further details.
