SAN DIEGO, CA (April 8, 2019) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized Friday morning after he was involved in a crash on Rancho Bernardo Drive.

Authorities received dispatch calls about the accident around 8:15 a.m. First responders arrived near the intersection of Rancho Bernardo Drive and Matinal Road soon after.

Reports indicate that the rider was allegedly suffering from a serious leg injury due to the impact of the collision. The motorcyclist was eventually taken to Palomar Medical Center in Poway, for further treatment. According to medics, his wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.

Moreover, detectives from the San Diego Police Department’s traffic division are still currently investigating the crash. More details will eventually be released once made available.

Motorcycle riders rarely escape injury when an accident occurs. If you are riding a motorcycle, do not underestimate the bike’s speed and strictly follow traffic laws and the conditions of the road. For other motorists, do not tailgate a motorcycle and maintain a safe following distance. Give motorcycles a full traffic lane when you pass and remember that they too have equal rights on the road.
