Rider Injured After Motorcycle Collides with Vehicle in Lemoore

LEMOORE, CA (September 04, 2019) — A motorcyclist suffered injuries in a collision on Lacey Boulevard at 18 ¾ Avenue Tuesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 7:20 a.m. A 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle was westbound on Lacey Boulevard. At the same time, a 2006 Chevrolet was also westbound on Lacey. However, it was slowing and signaling to turn left onto southbound 18 ¾ Avenue.

The Harley then moved into the eastbound lane. After that, it began passing vehicles in front of it while approaching the intersection with 18 ¾ Avenue.

When the Chevy began turning left onto 18 ¾ Avenue, the front of the Harley hit the left front of the Chevy. The force of the impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle. Both vehicles came to a rest in a cotton field southwest of Lacey Boulevard at 18 ¾ Avenue.

Medics transported the motorcyclist to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with major injuries. After that, he was identified as a 33-year-old man from Hanford.

Meantime, there was no information whether the 37-year-old Laton man driving the Chevy had any injury.

The accident is under investigation. Alcohol and drugs were not a factor as per officials.

Motorcyclists rarely escape injury when an accident occurs. As a result, if you are riding a motorcycle, do not underestimate the bike’s speed. In addition, strictly follow traffic laws.
