Motorcyclist Injured in Collision on Dakota Avenue [Fresno, CA]

1 Hospitalized after Motorcycle Accident on West Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (March 19, 2020) – Early Tuesday evening, an unidentified motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in a collision on Dakota Avenue.
 
Authorities received reports of the crash just before 6:00 p.m., on March 17. Dispatchers arrived to the area near North West Avenue shortly after.
 
Fresno Police revealed that while a northbound BMW attempted to make a left turn onto Dakota Avenue, the driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
 
As a result, the BMW then collided with a southbound motorcycle.
 
When medics arrived, they transported the injured motorcyclist to Community Regional Medical Center for further treatment. Due to the impact of the collision, the rider was left with critical injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the BMW driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities. Their identity has not yet been given.
 
The surrounding area on Dakota Avenue was closed off for a brief time during preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
