Rider Dies in 215 Freeway Accident in Murrieta

 
MURRIETA, CA (April 30, 2019) – A motorcyclist died Saturday morning when a vehicle struck him just seconds after he crashed in a 215 Freeway accident near Scott Road.
 
The fatal event took place around 4:27 a.m. The unidentified victim was traveling north on the 215 Freeway on a 2001 Honda CBR. For unexplained reasons, the rider lost control and crashed.
 
Subsequently, a 2012 Volkswagen Passat traveling at speeds of 65 mph struck the rider, causing him fatal injuries.
 
Authorities are investigating the possible factors of the initial crash, which happened during light fog conditions.
