Escondido, CA (August 19, 2020) – A crash incident on Interstate 15 left a motorcyclist dead on Monday afternoon.

The fatal incident happened on August 17 around 3 p.m. on southbound Interstate 15 north of De Lago Boulevard.

Authorities were looking for a white sedan who reportedly struck debris, which then struck the motorcyclist.

California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Latulippe said the unidentified sedan left the scene immediately.

The motorcyclist was a 69-year-old San Diego man riding a BMW motorcycle in the carpool lane. A few lanes to the right were a white Chevrolet Cobalt and the sedan when the Cobalt runs over the debris.
