SPRING VALLEY, CA (May 1, 2019) – Authorities on Friday identified a 48-year-old Lemon Grove man who died Wednesday when he lost control of his motorcycle on a Spring Valley road.

Cesar Limon Gamez was riding east on Jamacha Boulevard just east of Omega Street about 6:45 a.m. when he lost control around a curve and crashed into a light pole, according to the California Highway Patrol and San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Several people called 911, and sheriff’s deputies attempted to resuscitate Gamez to no avail. Personnel from the San Miguel Fire Department confirmed his death at 6:55 a.m. The Medical Examiner’s Office said he died of multiple blunt force injuries.

Witnesses reported the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed just before the crash. The CHP said it was unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
