Motorcycle Crash on Mt Whitney Avenue Results in Double Fatality [Fresno County, CA]

Fresno County, CA (August 19, 2023) On Thursday evening, a fatal motorcycle crash on Mt Whitney Avenue left 2 riders dead.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the deadly motorcycle collision happened around 9 p.m. on Mt. Whitney Avenue west of Garfield Avenue.

Reports say that a 38-year-old male motorcyclist from Riverdale, and a 43-year-old male motorcyclist riding a Yamaha motorcycle in the opposite direction collided.

The impact of the collision ejected both riders and both suffered fatal injuries. Officials say that both riders were not wearing helmets at the time of the crash and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say that both riders may have known each other and both motorcycles were equipped with poor or no lighting during darkness.

CHP is investigating the fatal motorcycle collision.
