Gregg County Vehicle Collision Results in Fatality
Gregg County, TX (May 16, 2023) – On Sunday, Monica Arthur, 53, of Tatum, sustained fatal injuries in a Highway 149 vehicle crash.
Texas DPS officer said Arthur was westbound in her 2000 Honda Accord at about 1:30 p.m.
At the same time, Jaidon Gentry, 20, of Longview, was eastbound on the same freeway in a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche.
Officers said that preliminary investigation showed that Gentry began to turn onto Younger Road but didn’t yield the right of way to Arthur who was driving through the intersection. Her vehicle collided with his as he turned in front of her car.
Immediately, the paramedics rushed Arthur to a Longview hospital where she died.
Gentry, who was wearing a seatbelt was rushed to Longview Regional Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
