Mohammad Samayee Killed in Rollover Crash on 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks

Car Overturns on 405 Freeway at Burbank Boulevard Killing 1 and Injuring Another

 
SHERMAN OAKS, CA (December 31, 2018) – A man was killed following a rollover crash early Monday morning on 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:33 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway at Burbank Boulevard, just near the Sepulveda Basin.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Toyota sedan rolled over into a ditch on the right shoulder of the freeway.
 
A witness in a blue Toyota RAV4 called 911 to report the crash. Paramedics responded to the scene and found one occupant with fatal injuries. The victim was later identified as a 21-year-old Mohammad Samayee.
 
Another person was injured and transported to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
Police issued a SigAlert, blocking the third and fourth lanes of the freeway while they worked on the scene.
 
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol have played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
