Candace Grant and Misty Moody Dead in Rollover Crash on Interstate 20 [Callahan County, TX]

Callahan County, TX (October 09, 2025) — A late-night rollover crash on Interstate 20 claimed the lives of Misty Moody and Candace Grant, and left two children injured on Monday.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, 27-year-old Candace Paige Grant of Midland was driving an SUV near mile marker 319 when she lost control, veered off the roadway, and overcorrected.

Reports say that the vehicle rolled several times, ejecting both Grant and her passenger, 46-year-old Misty Nicole Moody of Eastland. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two children inside the vehicle were also hurt. One suffered serious injuries and remains hospitalized, while the other—secured in a rear-facing car seat—sustained only minor injuries. Authorities noted that neither Grant, Moody, nor the seriously injured child were wearing seatbelts.

No other vehicles were involved, and the crash remains under investigation.
