VISTA, CA (December 28, 2020) – Sunday morning, a reportedly missing man suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on North Santa Fe Avenue.
 
The crash between an SUV and a pedestrian occurred just before 3:00 a.m. It took place at 2405 North Santa Fe Avenue, said San Diego County Sheriff‘s Sgt. Kevin Johnston.
 
According to reports, a southbound red Dodge Dakota on Santa Fe Avenue hit the pedestrian.
 
“The driver of the Dodge Dakota looked down briefly and when he looked back up a pedestrian was standing in the middle of the roadway in front of him,” Johnston revealed. “The driver of the Dodge Dakota attempted to swerve but collided with the pedestrian.”
 
The Oceanside firefighters initiated first aid to the pedestrian. The victim suffered an apparent broken leg and was unconscious due to severe head trauma.
 
Thus, responders took him to Palomar Medical Center for treatment, Johnston added.
 
Meanwhile, the SUV driver stayed at the scene. Moreover, the authorities do not believe that speed or alcohol played a role in the collision.
