Police Investigate DUI Crash on US 40 Highway in Kansas City

Kansas City, Mo (March 21, 2025) – Authorities are investigating a 36-year-old Lawrence man for driving under the influence after a head-on crash on Us 40 Highway late Thursday night in Douglas County.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred around 11:45 p.m. on U.S. 40 Highway near the Lawrence Regional Airport.

Deputies arriving at the scene found that everyone involved sustained minor injuries.

During the investigation, deputies suspected one of the drivers was impaired and took him into custody on suspicion of DUI. 

Officials have not released his name, as formal charges are still pending with the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
