Passenger Killed in Head-On Crash Near the Sacramento River
Butte County, CA (February 4, 2023) – On Friday, Miguel Velazquez, 27, sustained injuries following a Highway 32 fatal collision.
The traffic accident took place past 3 p.m. near the Sacramento River.
According to CHP, a 2002 Acura was northbound on the freeway, east of Gianella Road. The vehicle turned left into the eastbound lane and into the path of a 1999 Chevrolet truck.
The Chevrolet driver attempted to evade the oncoming vehicle but was struck head-on.
Miguel Velazquez, who was a passenger in the Acura, incurred moderate injuries.
Another passenger, a 22-year-old woman died in the collision. Her identity is still unknown.
Meanwhile, CHP is investigating whether alcohol played a role in the fatal crash near the Sacramento River.
