2 Men Dead while Racing at Snell and Rosenbaum Avenues, 3 Suspects at Large
SAN JOSE, CA (August 31, 2019) – Two men were killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday night in South San Jose, police said.
The crash happened around 6:25 p.m. on Snell Avenue just north of Rosenbaum Avenue.
According to police, a black 2014 Jeep and a gray BMW were racing northbound on Snell Avenue. The Jeep lost control and crashed into a tree.
As a result, the two men inside the Jeep died at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office identified them as Miguel Angel Rodriguez, 33, and Ernesto Chapa, 26. Both are San Jose residents.
Meanwhile, three men exited the BMW, but after and viewing the crash scene they got back into the car and drove away, police said.
At this time, police are still trying to find the three suspects.
