Pedestrian Struck by SUV in Collision near East Madison Street
PETALUMA, CA (September 22, 2018) – On Saturday afternoon, a man was hospitalized after a pedestrian crash on North McDowell Boulevard. The victim was later identified as 24-year-old Miguel Gonzalez of Petaluma.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place near East Madison Street. Gonzalez was walking outside the crosswalk when he was struck by an SUV, driven by 47-year-old Thoan Ferguson of Castro Valley. The pedestrian suffered head injuries and was taken to the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
There is no update on his current medical condition, but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
Witnesses stated that the driver had the green light when she entered the intersection. Ferguson, who was cooperating with the investigation, showed no signs of intoxication, nor was there evidence that she was speeding. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the collision. No additional information has been released to the public at this time.
