47-Year-Old Michele Savinsky Arrested in Violent Traffic Crash on NM 399 [Santa Fe County, NM]

Santa Fe County, NM (April 12, 2025) – Santa Fe County sheriff’s deputies arrested 47-year-old Michele Savinsky of Española after she allegedly struck a bicyclist in a violent Traffic Crash on NM 399.

According to authorities, the crash happened Thursday morning on N.M. 399 near U.S. 84/285, just south of Española.

Reports say that Savinsky fled the scene after the collision.

Authorities say that the crash seriously injured a 54-year-old Santa Fe woman, who was found lying on the roadside with head injuries and unable to move.

Emergency crews transported her to a nearby hospital, though her current condition remains unknown.

Witnesses told deputies that a gold car hit the woman and then sped away. One witness provided a license plate number that led authorities to Savinsky’s residence.

Deputies located a damaged gold Acura in her driveway with signs consistent with having hit a person, including hair on the broken windshield. Savinsky denied leaving her house that day, but investigators noted the vehicle damage was not present during a prior traffic stop weeks earlier.

Savinsky now faces charges including leaving the scene of an accident with great bodily harm, reckless driving, and failing to render aid or report the crash. Records also reveal a history of prior traffic violations.
