33-Year-Old Michael Lamar Rucker Killed in San Marcos Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash [San Marcos, TX]

San Marcos, TX (May 06, 2025) – 33-year-old Michael Lamar Rucker of Georgia lost his life in a hit-and-run crash on State Highway 123.

According to San Marcos Police, the fatal crash happened around 10:46 p.m. in the southbound lanes of State Highway 123, just south of Skylark Lane.

Police are investigating the fatal hit-and-run. Authorities determined that two vehicles struck Rucker.

Officials say that the first vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived, while the second driver stayed and cooperated with the investigation.

Officers found a right-side mirror from a white pickup truck, likely an early 2000s Ford, featuring a custom-painted rose design.

Investigators are analyzing physical evidence and working with the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab to identify the hit-and-run suspect.

Authorities ask anyone with information, dash cam footage, or who witnessed the crash to contact SMPD at 512-753-2114 or submit an anonymous tip to Hays County Crime Stoppers.
