SANTA BARBARA, CA (June 6, 2020) – Late Friday morning, Michael Kai Liu died and Oscar Pereyra suffered injuries in a crash on Highway 154.
 
The incident occurred at about 10:44 a.m. on Highway 154 and East Camino Cielo. According to reports, truck driver Oscar Pereyra drove across the double yellow lines. Then, he crashed into Michael Kai Liu’s vehicle.
 
When the first responders arrived, they located the head-on crash with two parties involved.
 
Fire officials confirmed that one person died on the scene while the other sustained critical injuries. By 11:20 a.m., firefighters performed heavy extrication to free the seriously injured patient.
 
Moreover, the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s office announced the identity of the deceased as 31-year-old Michael Kai Liu from Arroyo Grande.
