25-Year-Old Hesperia Man Fatally Injured in Pedestrian Collision at Sierra Avenue
FONTANA, CA (May 26, 2018) – A fatal pedestrian collision took place on Merrill Avenue, late Saturday night. He was identified as 25-year-old Michael Joe Cota of Hesperia.
The accident took place just south of the intersection of Merrill Avenue and Sierra Avenue, according to Fontana Police officials. Emergency medics arrived to the scene around 10:40 PM to find Cota seriously injured. There are no details on the events leading up to the collision.
He was taken to the Kaiser Foundation Hospital Fontana Emergency Department, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 11:09 PM.
Authorities with the Fontana PD are currently investigating the fatal accident, and encourage any witnesses or persons with additional information to contact them as soon as possible. No further details have been released to the public at this time regarding this tragic accident.
