42-Year-Old Lake Elsinore Man Fatally Injured in Head-On Collision near Vail Street
LAKELAND VILLAGE, CA (October 25, 2018) – A man was killed Thursday evening following a two-vehicle crash near Vail Street. The victim was later identified as 42-year-old Michael Edwards, a resident of Lake Elsinore.
According to the California Highway, the incident took place at about 5:00 PM. A 2009 Ford Focus, driven by Edwards, was heading south on Grand Avenue when it drifted over the center line and collided head-on with a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban.
Edwards suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, the unidentified Chevrolet driver was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries. Updates on his current medical condition were not immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
