Fatal Pedestrian Hit-And-Run Crash in Malibu Leaves Michael Bennett Dead
Malibu, CA (October 4, 2020) – Sunday night, pedestrian Michael Bennett died in a hit-and-run crash on Pacific Coast Highway near Las Flores Canyon Road.
The fatal pedestrian crash happened around 10:34 p.m. on October 4. Dispatched officers arrived and found the pedestrian down on the scene after a car hit him. However, the driver immediately fled.
Authorities described the suspect’s vehicle as a dark-colored sedan heading westbound after striking the 58-year-old pedestrian.
Meanwhile, westbound lanes of PCH were blocked at Las Flores during cleanup and preliminary duties.
LASD traffic division continues to investigate the deadly hit-and-run that left Michael Bennett dead.
Later reports by Lt. Evans of the Malibu-Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station said that the hit-and-run driver’s car looked like a dark-colored sedan. The vehicle drove westbound on PCH after it struck Bennett.
