Multiple Injuries Reported in Los Angeles Train vs Bus Accident on W Exposition Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 1, 2024) – Tuesday, a massive Metro E Line train crash on W Exposition Boulevard sent 18 people to hospital.
The crash between a Metro E Line train and a USC Transportation bus happened shortly before noon in the 900 block of W Exposition Boulevard, adjacent to the USC campus.
Officers confirmed that two occupants of the bus were taken to hospitals in serious condition. Meanwhile, another 16 were transported to hospitals in fair condition. Then, 37 others were taken to be treated at the scene.
Moreover, officers said that no children or juveniles sustained injuries in the crash.
Reports revealed that more than 150 people were on the train during the collision. Thus, responding crews set up a triage area to evaluate the various patients.
The Expo Park/USC Station along the E Line was temporarily shut down as authorities conducted their investigation. Metro implemented bus shuttles to transport passengers between the Jefferson/USC and Expo/Vermont stations.
Additionally, Exposition Boulevard was closed off during the investigation process.
