Melissa Christian Dies, Man Injured in Solo Vehicle Crash on Olive Drive

 
Bakersfield, CA (August 29, 2020) – On Saturday, 33-year-old Melissa Christian died, and a 53-year-old man sustained injuries in a solo vehicle crash on Olive Drive and Roberts Lane.
 
The incident happened on the morning of August 29.
 
Police say a black Nissan truck was traveling west on Olive Drive when it crashed into a streetlight at the intersection between Olive Drive and Roberts Lane.
 
There were two occupants in the car. The man was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, but the female passenger, now identified as Ms. Christian, died at the scene.
 
Authorities closed the Roberts Lane northbound from Olive Drive as the investigation continued. However, all roads are now clear and open.
