Max Twogood Injured in Fatal Collision on State Route 970 [Cle Elum, WA]

Cle Elum, WA (May 18, 2023) – On Wednesday, Elecia Vaughn, 37, of Cle Elum, died, while Max Twogood, 34, of Seattle, sustained injuries in a collision on State Route 970.

The traffic crash happened before 5:30 p.m. approximately four miles east of Cle Elum.

State Patrol says Vaughn was eastbound on the freeway behind two other vehicles.

Tim Soderstrom, 36, of Cle Elum, was driving the leading vehicle when he stopped to make a turn. The vehicle behind him driven by Twogood, stopped behind Soderstrom.

However, Vaughn failed to stop her vehicle in time and rear-ended Twogood’s car which rear-ended Soderstrom’s rig.

Sadly, Vaughn died at the crash scene. 

Twogood incurred minor injuries while Soderstrom and his passenger, Riley Seed, 22, of Ellensburg, were not hurt. 

Officers do not take alcohol and drugs were not a factor and officers said everyone was buckled up during the collision.

In the meantime, officers are investigating the collision.
