Kern County Deadly Crash Kills Carson Resident Maurilio Heredia Herrera
Kern County, CA (July 20, 2021) – On Saturday, 27-year-old Carson resident, Maurilio Heredia Herrera, died in a vehicle crash on Highway 65.
Officers said a 2003 Infiniti was southbound on Highway 65 when a 2011 Chevrolet was northbound on the same highway.
The Infiniti entered the opposite lane to pass a vehicle and crashed directly into the path of the oncoming Chevrolet.
The Chevrolet driver from Bakersfield suffered moderate injuries . Rescuers took him to Kern Medical for treatment.
Meanwhile, Herrera, the Infiniti driver, suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigating officers are still working on the incident.
