Matthew McGinnie Dead in Willowbrook Pedestrian Crash on 105 Freeway and Wilmington Avenue

 
WILLOWBROOK, CA (November 9, 2020) – On Sunday morning, Matthew McGinnie died in a pedestrian accident on the 105 Freeway and Wilmington Avenue.
 
The incident occurred at 3:46 a.m. on the westbound side of the 105 Freeway, west of Wilmington Avenue.
 
According to witnesses, the man wearing a black T-shirt ran back and forth in the lanes. He also jumped in front of vehicles as if he wanted to be struck.
 
California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Nicholson said vehicles tried to avoid him.
 
Even so, a vehicle struck and killed the victim.
 
As a result, the authorities administered a SigAlert for all westbound lanes.
 
By 5:33 a.m., the authorities reopened the HOV and fast lanes. However, lanes 2 and 3 stayed closed.
 
Furthermore, the fatal accident on 105 Freeway remains under active investigation.
